On October 14, 2018, a fire broke out in a house in Section 10 area of Ban Mae La Oon refugee camp. There were 10 refugee houses being affected in which 4 were totally burned down and 6 were saved but partly destroyed as these roof were taken away to avoid being caught in the fire.
After the fire was put out, Governmental and Non-governmental Organizations rushed to provide assistance to the fire victims immediately. In order to help refugees to rehabilitate their houses and living again, COERR have provided some construction material including nails and wire for all 10 needy household. In addition, mattress and kitchenware were distributed to all families that lost their household belongings in fire.
